In July 2019, 13 VC students participated in a three-week English overseas study tour to Australia (14/7-3/8) and New Zealand (24/7-13/8).

The tour allowed them to polish English skills in an authentic English speaking environment and appreciate Australian and New Zealand’s unique culture, nature and way of living.  They not only built a close tie with locals, but they also felt a great sense of pride after the tour:

“I celebrated my birthday in Australia this year. To my great surprise, my host family prepared a birthday cake and a gift for me. I am so thankful to them! It's my best birthday ever!” – Zeng Sze Nga Aurora F.2

“There were lots of incredible memories, the best of which was spending time on a famous beach with other Hong Kong and local students. It was really an excellent experience. I really enjoyed my stay in Australia!” – Leung Kwan Pik Gloria F.3

“Besides the scenery and knowledge, the most precious thing is the unbeatable friendship with New Zealanders! I’ve learnt so much about their school and explored the other side of city knowing more about the popular culture there!” – So Ming Ching Cheryl F.5

“I've learnt in New Zealand the Maori culture, had fun and made lots of friends. Auckland is a place full of eye-filling sights, especially the Skyline and the Glowworm Cave, while Wellington is full of warm people treating us like family.” – Lee Ming Yi Rachel F.6
