Welcome Back to a New Academic Year!

Dear Valtortans,

As we gather today to welcome the new academic year, I am reminded of the powerful words from the Bible: “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light for my path.” (Psalm 119:105). This verse beautifully aligns with our school theme for 2025/26: "To be hardworking in our pursuit of the truth."

This scripture encourages us to seek God's wisdom in our daily lives. His words serve as a guiding light, illuminating our paths and ensuring that every step we take aligns with His will. As we embark on this journey together, let us remember to turn to prayer in moments of uncertainty, frustration, and despair. We should ask God to guide us, grant us clarity, and help us navigate the challenges ahead.

While hard work and perseverance are essential for our growth, it is only through God's wisdom that we can truly uncover the truth and righteousness we seek. This year, I urge each of you to commit yourselves to being diligent in your studies, compassionate in your interactions, and responsible in your choices. Every act of kindness and thoughtful decision is an opportunity to reflect His love and grace.

As we embrace the opportunities this year presents and strive for excellence in all that we do, may we remember to lean on God’s guidance. Dear Valtortans, Teachers and Staff Members

As we welcome the Year of the Snake during our last cycle assembly before the Chinese New Year holiday, I would like to encourage you to reflect on the valuable lessons the snake teaches us.

The snake teaches us the importance of being adaptable. Just as a snake moves gracefully through its environment, we too must learn to navigate the challenges we face with agility. Life is full of unexpected twists and turns, and our ability to adjust and respond is crucial for our growth.

The snake symbolizes transformation. Just as the snake sheds its skin, we too can let go of old habits and make way for new growth. This is a perfect time to set intentions for the year ahead, to be curious, and to pursue our passions fearlessly. Embracing change opens doors to new opportunities and experiences.

The snake also symbolizes intuition. This year, let us strive to be more observant and thoughtful, much like the snake, which carefully navigates its surroundings. As we celebrate this festive occasion, let’s also remember the importance of loving our families thoughtfully. Let’s be more aware of how our actions affect those around us, and strive to cultivate love and understanding within our families.

As we embark on this new year, let’s be inspired by the snake. May we approach our studies, and our lives with the snake’s wisdom that will help us grow and thrive.
